The PM/GM staff will be holding a meeting in Alidine at 4pm on Sunday of the October event to discuss the rules changes for the 2012 rulebook. If you have comments/questions/suggestions please let them know.
There will be a re-vote for the odd year seat. We will be using the following new SOP to decide the winner.
4.3.8 For all BoD elections the process of voting shall be by preference. This shall occur as follows:
1) Voters will rank with candidates in order of preference, with “1” being the highest (most preferred) ranking.
2) Upon the first round of tallying votes, the first preference (i.e.”1”) on each ballot shall count as a vote for that particular candidate.
3)If no candidate receives a majority (greater than 50% of the total valid ballots) the candidate with the fewest number of votes shall be removed from the count. Those ballots cast for the removed candidate shall then be tallied for the second preference (i.e. “2″) i“d”cated on those ballots.
4)This process shall be repeated until a majority is reached by one of the candidates.
5) Voters shall not be required to rank ALL candidates, and as such during the tallying process, any ballot that has reached a point where no preferences are further indicated, that ballot shall be considered an abstention vote.
6) In the case where abstention votes are more than 50% of the BoD shall be required to hold a second election with candidates removed by this process removed from the new ballot.
7) In the event of a split vote a run off election will be held at the following K1 event.
