New Player Information

Joining KaNaR opens up access to one of the most creative, immersive, and entertaining games around.

Requirements

All new players must be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration. No exceptions will be made. Bring photo ID with proof of age when registering.

How to Register

Step One. All new players should be familiar with the KGE SOPs, which govern the basic rules and regulations of the KaNaR game and management. Additionally, players should be familiar with the KaNaR rules and the KaNaR setting. The additional information section below also contains useful documents for new players.

Step Two. New players must come to a game event. Registration is only allowed during official events. A new player's first event is free. Contact the Character Book Director if special arrangements are required.

Step Three. The Character Book Director will work with new players. The CBD can be found in the parking lot on Friday and Saturday of an event. New players will need to bring photo ID with proof of age in order to register with the CBD.

Step Four. Before new members may begin to play KaNaR, they must be certified by the game marshals. KaNaR requires three certifications: Fighter, Rogue, and Mage. All players must receive all three certifications before they are allowed to play. The Character Book Director will be able to direct players to the appropriate marshals to receive certification. Study guides for the certification courses are available under Game Rules.

Step Five. Each event has a $5 per day attended fee. The first event attended by a new player is free. Membership dues must be up to date before a player may enter the game at any event. Dues must be given to the Treasurer. Discounted yearly and half-yearly rates are also available. Dues are $100 yearly and $60 half-yearly. There are nine three-day events, two one-day events, and one ten-day event each year.
